About Tools of Science Tools of Science is a joint research information system run by Stockholm Science City. The platform makes research competences and core facilities at Karolinska Institutet, Karolinska University Hospital, the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and Stockholm University, as well as knowledge-intensive companies delivering service to the life science industry more visible and accessible, in order to stimulate research collaboration.
Use the "Browse"-function in the left menu or enter keywords in the "Search" function in order to retrieve information about available core facilities, companies, and competences.

This part of the platform offers researchers within academia and industry with up to date and high quality core facilities, resources and competence from academia in a wide range of areas within life science. We believe that shared usage of the tools facilitates research and enhances scientific productivity.
The information should be updated at least once a year.
The Tools of Science are all categorised either as a core facility, equipment, a specific resource, or a course. In some cases, a tool functions both as a core facility and as a specific resource, and is therefore included in both categories. For definitions, please click here. The tools are divided into a number of thematic areas such as; genomics and visualisation techniques. In some cases, a tool can be included in more than one thematic area to ensure that you will find what you are looking for.

This part of the platform presents a complete list of all companies offering knowledge intense services to the life science industry and to academic researchers within life science.
Advanced search
By using “advanced search” you can limit your search to the categories or universities of choice, and you can search for Tools of Science based on the department, the personnel, or the key words. You can also limit the search for only the academic tools interested in collaboration wth industry by entering the keyword "industryinterest".
